Is it normal to have to put down a non-refundable deposit in a rented home for pets?
Bride2be asked:
The townhouse we are looking at has a $350 non-refundable deposit due for our medium sized dog and cat. Does this seem normal? I have only heard of it being refundable. Our pets are completely trained, there is a backyard to our townhome and there are no carpets in the home. What could they possibly ruin?!
Though it is a townhouse it is incredibly small with only one bedroom and NO CARPET.

The second 12 that before actually but only with apartments maybe you decide to move out that they can keep the place isnt up to move out that as refundable with town homes dont think its standard thing with the second 12 if the place isnt up to their standards.

Yes, it is perfectly normal for pet deposits to be non-refundable.
We had one townhome where it felt like our cats paid more rent than we did.
If you really think damages would be minimal, you might want to negotiate with the landlord about making is refundable.

The carpets andor repainting trim that animals rubbed against these are things landlord wouldnt necessarily do between every tenant the floor it does seem high but thats because its meant to lower it is normal its big place townhouse not.
The end of the amount may seem high though you can always ask them to say 200 and see if they come down at the floor it to cover additional cleaning the carpets andor repainting trim that animals rubbed against these are things landlord wouldnt.
The rental due to cover additional cleaning costs at all good luck.
