Will pets at home let me hold their rats?

Well i want to get 2 rats but there are no breeders near me, and no shelters that have rats either, just Pets At Home. I was wondering if they would let me hold the rats before i buy them, to check if theyre healthy, i know what to look for but i cant really see the rats that well in their little cage things becuase theyre up high, above all the hamsters

   i got my 2 rats from pets at home but i couldnt hold them. they had 6 in quarantine that had come in a week ago, a woman brought them out, i picked 2 they went and put them in a box and that was that

   generally no, but if you find a nice employee they might. animals from pets at home are generally pretty poor so they dont want people examining them or no one would buy them! although one of my rats from pets at home is rather small compared to other rats but is probably one of my healthiest, so theyre not all bad. glad to hear your getting rats by the way theyre great pets ^_^
